“THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK” exposes the tragedy taking place in Darfur as seen through the eyes of an American witness who has since returned to the US to take action to stop it. Brian Steidle, the film’s narrator and photographer will give his first-hand accounts of the of the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. www.thedevilcameonhorseback.com

Speakers:
Hunter Lovins, of Natural Capitalism, Inc. will speak about the specific climate change impacts exacerbating the crisis in Darfur.
CU Associate Law Professor Maxine Burkett will discuss how climate change is already having an impact on the social and economic stability of poor and developing nations. And what they're doing about it.
Representative Alice Madden will be speaking on what Colorado is doing on national security and energy policy.
Hear from a student in the CU chapter of STAND (Students Anti-Genocide Coalition) about their activities on campus.
Moderated by Speaker of the House, Andrew Romanoff, who has introduced a bill into the Colorado legislature to divest from Sudan.

Film given by CU International Film Series
Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the 11th Hour describes the last moment when change is possible. The film explores how humanity has arrived at this moment; how we live, how we impact the earth's ecosystems, and what we can do to change our course.

The film features dialogues with experts from all over the world, including former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev, renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, former head of the CIA R. James Woolsey and sustainable design experts William McDonough and Bruce Mau in addition to over 50 leading scientists, thinkers and leaders who present the facts and discuss the most important issues that face our planet.
